JNTUH Implementation of Facial Recognition System (FRS):Â Owing to the pandemic COVID-19 situation prevailing, the Aadhaar based Biometric attendance system (based on Fingerprint recognition) which was used to monitor the daily attendance of Faculty members and Students in both Constituent Units & Affiliated Colleges of the University has been dispensed with and Facial Recognition System was identified as an alternative. Facial Recognition System is capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video/camera source and it is widely adopted due to its contactless and non-invasive process. Further, it is described as a Biometric Artificial Intelligence based application that can uniquely identify a person by analyzing patterns based on the person’s facial textures.
