Sankranthi is a three days festival celebrated by all the Indian peoples. In every year This is the first festival. So this festival is also called a New year Family festival. In the first day, we celebrated boogie and next day Lohri and finally day Sankranti. Pongal has many regional names. The most popular variations are:

• Lohri
• Bihu
• Hadaga
• Poki

Sankranthi/Pongal Festival Calendar dates 2023:

All the government schools in Andhra Pradesh will be closed from 12-01-2023 to 16th January 2023 in the view of Sankranti. The attention of all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and the District Educational Officers in the State is invited to the reference read wherein the Pongal Holidays have been declared from 12-01-2023 to 16-01-2023 and the schools should reopen on 17-01-2023.
